Don't run for buses

I oscillate between "Can we all please just calm down?" and "Burn it all to the ground" "Wirklich ich lebe in finstern Zeiten"—B. Brecht "One must understand all—else one must take all for granted"—F. Scott Fitzgerald
"I'm so scared of the crime I invented in my head"

“Running the bus every 30 minutes isn’t going to cut it if you want to grow ridership.“
Many Vancouver 🚌 run every 5min or less, and the SkyTrain runs every 3-4min, via @davidzipper.bsky.social
We caught it in between the St. Paul skyline driving up I-35E, and it looked HUGE

08.10.2025 17:18 — 👍 836 🔁 138 💬 26 📌 5Yeah, the expectation of predictability cuts both ways. I appreciated them for slowing down to make sure I didn't blow the sign!
08.10.2025 19:40 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Yesterday someone stopped in the middle of a roundabout and tried to wave me into it, I got so pissed off. Don't break the rules of the road just to feel nice! You are actually slowing me down by not continuing through the roundabout!
08.10.2025 16:46 — 👍 6 🔁 1 💬 6 📌 0People have done this to me while biking when I have the stop sign. I just sit there and point at the sign until they move on
08.10.2025 17:20 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0This thread highlights a point I have been making for many years: the logic of authoritarianism and the logic of domestic abuse are exactly the same. It is only a difference of scale.

Frey bleats “you can’t have encampments by home & businesses“ but that’s exactly where he’s pushed these folks. Meanwhile 50 housing vouchers go unfunded.
07.10.2025 13:46 — 👍 100 🔁 19 💬 4 📌 6Everytime I've used it, I've seen a physical response within a few stations. Metro Transit has far more staff available to respond since 2023 and the introduction of the TRIP agents
I don't know why you would stop using it unless you want MT to be LESS awar that you're experiencing a problem

24.09.2025 21:03 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Ahh there you go. I've heard that anything 551xx can use "Saint Paul" as the city in a mailing address and anything 554xx can use "Minneapolis" hence why so many suburbs' mail can go either way (their actual city name or Minneapolis/Saint Paul)

24.09.2025 18:51 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0MSP Airport technically isn't in any municipality. It's on a patch of Federal land that sits between Minneapolis, Saint Paul, and Bloomington
24.09.2025 18:45 — 👍 9 🔁 0 💬 2 📌 0OTOH the r/saintpaul subreddit is larger and better moderated than the r/stpaul subreddit. And USPS prefers "Saint Paul" on mail in case the "St." gets confused for the abbreviation for "Street"
Neither is better than the other, but they are both used for different things
Gonna pop a Tylenol and look at some trains to see what all the fuss is about.
