Penelope/Pumpkin will never convince her sister Candy that she's in a happy, stable relationship that works for her own unconventional needs. In the end, they agree to avoid discussing the topic and so Pumpkin can never share all of her life. That lack of acceptance will always hurt.

I'd have loved if the narrative got into that though. He might not have had it, but I can readily believe it added to his overall resentment that white men with a fraction of his potential could have the respect education offered while he was denied it.

Exactly! I think there's sometimes a tendency to equate intelligence with having a formal education, but I agree that he's a "fake it til you make it" type of man and he is frighteningly good at improvising and manipulating his way through life. School wasn't going to teach that.

This is such a great question and I'd like to make a counterpoint argument. I don't think Alastor was highly educated at all. He's an extremely clever opportunist capable of pivoting on a dime. What he needed to succeed was learned through observational skills and mimicry.

I couldn't agree more. I'd say it's always been an issue in many fandoms, but it's very hard to ignore in this one. If Lucifer were a woman, he'd be as despised as Stella. Then again, if he was a woman, he wouldn't be getting the screen time or narrative attention he is either.

If money was no issue, I'd open a Reading Nook. Some books for sale and accepting orders, but mostly just a place where people can come in and read quietly from a rotating collection of books. All wood paneling, stained glass, and cozy places to curl up.
