Music produces a kind of pleasure without which human nature cannot do. Consciousness is a spectator sport.

That just speaks to a paucity of nuance when one says "FDR was to left of HW Bush". Well, at least George never interned the Japanese!

These are not the only inconsistencies and incredible representations in the record. While Defendants may argue that the Court identifies only minor inconsistencies, every minor inconsistency adds up, and at some point, it becomes difficult, if not impossible, to believe almost anything that Defendants represent. The Court discusses these inconsistencies in greater detail below, highlighting only a few here. For example, Hewson testified that people held shields with nails in them, Doc. 255 at 199:22–23, 200:19, 201:17–18, 202:10–11, but video demonstrates that at least some of these shields were merely pieces of cardboard, none of the shields had nails in them, and nothing warranted the aggression that the agents showed toward the protesters holding these shields,

Judge Ellis says all these errors, no matter how minor, add up. "[A]t some point, it becomes difficult, if not impossible, to believe almost anything that [DHS] represent[s]."

E.g., a top officer testified protestors had shields with nails in them; there were no nails and mostly it was carboard.

I can no longer follow the plot of this show. I suspect the writers and actors can’t either. I don’t think they have a show runner.

They both took it as a given that Elon is one of the smartest, most innovative people on earth who could uniquely see through any problem. They did not, even once, consider that he's a monumentally lucky rich guy, who has no fucking clue about some fairly basic concepts.

Memphis is experiencing gestapo-style raids 24/7 now. Our local media is failing us and the national media is ignoring this black/blue/incredibly poor city in a red state. I guess we just aren’t as sexy as LA or Portland.

For Adam Gray CA-13, makes some political sense. His district was repped by an R until he won in 2024, and elected him while also Trump for prez in 2024. And this was going to pass no matter what.

I don't know how the prop 50 redistricting affects him though.

A lot of the moderation is run through LLMs - there're too many messages for humans to check each one (not to mention the emotional toll). And since much of the hate is generated using LLMs, I can imagine the review process also needs some sort of automated filtering. It's a hard problem!!

instead of saying this was good strategy, maybe senate dems should say: "the republicans were going to kill people by starving them to death, and because we aren't monsters, we decided to let this fight go. We'll keep fighting. Stop electing monsters."
