It's not the most glaring example of violating the law going on right now, but the PTO has issued an NPRM on IPR discretionary denial.

1) It is completely contrary to the statute that created IPR.
2) It does not appear to have gone through the required EO12866 process (even the non-signif version).

The deportation is also (primarily?) based on his guilty plea on intent to distribute LSD, as the article makes clear.

Is it still horrific? Yes. But not as horrific as being deported for a crime for which he was wrongfully convicted, and for which he was wrongly imprisoned for 43 years.

She was saying that she was tougher than Trump, not dehumanizing him.

(There was plenty of other dehumanizing talk about immigrants from that officer.)

Sheesh -- the comments were reprehensible and dehumanizing; I was only pointing out that he wasn't characterizing them as cannibals.

"Eat our kids for breakfast" means that they would defeat our kids easily, that they are tougher than our kids. He doesn't mean that they would literally eat our kids.

The USPTO should remain open, as it has during past government shutdowns. As I understand it, the USPTO maintains an operating reserve fund that is sufficient to keep it open for a few months even if the government shuts down.
