Today in: SERIOUSLY???

Going through the last box that was clearly packed for the move to THIS house 23 years ago I came across a 2001 YELLOW PAGES.

YES A COMPLETE YELLOW PAGES WAS PACKED TO MOVE.

Yeah this is why it’s taking longer than just dropping it all into a pile to be shredded. There’s a handful of important bits of paperwork we’ve found by being just a tad careful. (Basically original social security cards and birth certificates)

Based on what was in it? Had to be mom or dad. But it’s hilarious alright!

Okay but who do we blame the open box of tissues on? (Found in a box that was never unpacked from the old house.)

Just so people know it’s NOT just his side of the family. We found medical records and receipts for my MATERNAL grandmother as well. SHE DIED 10 YEARS BEFORE OUR PATERNAL GRANDMOTHER.
I also now know how much cataracts surgery cost in 1979. (Hint: depressingly cheap.)

I ALSO NOW KNOW HOW MUCH A TANK OF GAS COST IN 1985!

That being said: it’s been so long you may run into Apple ID login requirements. Podcasts are PROBABLY safe from that.

As for the devices themselves you can factory reset those using your own computer.

So. You can get access to his Apple ID but not his devices. From what I’ve read the passcode is stored locally and encrypted. BUT if he got audio books from Apple the Apple ID might be enough to get you that. You’ll need a copy of the death certificate, a letter from a lawyer and a court order.
