I am thrilled to present the Mosquito Cell Atlas! We analyzed 367K nuclei from 19 tissues in male & female mosquitoes, creating a comprehensive resource for vector biology & infectious disease research.

Plus we made some surprising discoveries! ๐ŸฆŸ๐Ÿงต

globally, there are ~3500 described mosquito species in the Culicidae family and many of these are important vectors of disease but only a small percentage have genomic resources. we are launching a pilot project to generate high quality reference genomes for 100 important mosquito species [1/3]

Dengue virus susceptibility in Aedes aegypti linked to natural cytochrome P450 variants The mosquito Aedes aegypti is the primary vector for dengue virus (DENV), which infects millions of people annually. Variability in DENV susceptibility among wild Ae. aegypti populations is governed b...

Happy to share our work exploring the genetic basis of dengue susceptibility in Aedes aegypti and revealing the antiviral role of a cytochrome P450. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...

Excited to announce our next speaker Dr William de Souza who will be presenting work on virus transmission dynamics of #emerging #arboviruses NEXT THURSDAY.
Will be great to get some perspective from an up-and-coming investigator. PLEASE help with a repost for this community driven seminar series.
