100%, I don’t think I want to live farther east or south than where I live now in the U.S. mountain west, bugs functionally disappear for 6 months a year.

That being said, I fully expect the Administration to do something stupid that’s more than extrajudicially killing people on boats but less than a full blown invasion, that will still be wildly destabilizing for the region.

I think it’s mostly signaling, there’s not enough combat power in the area right now to stage an invasion.

The U.S. sends out Marine Expeditionary Units/Amphibious Ready Groups out pretty frequently and it doesn’t always indicate there’s going to be an invasion or action of any variety.

You can hate the Dodgers but this has been one of the best World Series in recent memory and both teams are extremely likable. I’ll be happy with whoever wins.

The float was for a Catholic school, and to their credit the church immediately disavowed it.
