All is well - got 5”/13cm snow. Won’t let my mom get her mail and papers without her drive being cleared. The plow guy didn’t come until the next day. Took my show shovel and ice melt out to clean up the end of the drive. A week of a lot of back and forth to her place. But also baked fruitcake!

After living in FL for 28 years, very crazy to come back to Ohio. Laws have changed some - State Stores in some grocery stores and being able to buy alcohol on Sundays. But still a big change from ABC and Total Wine in FL!

I miss Total Wine so much! Ohio doesn’t let us have such nice things. Enjoying your calendar.

When we arrived - great niece (9yo), playing with her brothers in the driveway. First question - did I bring Caesar salad? Her favorite thing - for 5-6 years. It’s all she ate. Warms my ♥️.

Oh, then that’s definitely a good fruitcake! Not inexpensive to make but delicious.

A chunk of fruitcake that’s been cut - it shows there is very little ‘cake’ and it’s just nuts, dates, cherries, and pineapple held together. Basically an premium energy bar.

I love some fruitcakes - yours looks good! But I really like what I make - just enough flour and eggs to hold the ingredients together.

Baked pecan pie in a glass pie plate, cooling on a wire rack. Chopped pecans in the pie but pecan halves make a design on the top of the pie.

Thanksgiving is Saturday because my niece is on call.
