goes beyond coding too... think like midi guitars with which u can play saxophone or whatever. these days not sure changing the medium allows for that much experimentation bc the ui and its setup get so user-unfriendly quickly

i feel the same about making music with code (i.e. algorave stuff) vs just using a musical instrument which is... designed to make music

went down the rabbit hole of obsidian once. had tasks, complicated filtering queries, automation and whatever. took me quite some syntax learning just to be buggy at the end. now i've realised u can do all of that on todoist or any random todo app in like 1s. some things only ui can do for you
