if I hit you, on my bike, going ~10 mph, the damage you take mostly comes from being "tackled" by an 180 pound guy

if I hit you with my car and don't immediately slam on the breaks at 3 mph and you don't end up on the car, I'm digging some metal into you flesh and tearing off flesh on concrete

and even then, there's the power + momentum problem! even a rolling 2-3 mph car will *crush* a human body if hit from a number of different ways

it's literally harder and more dangerous for me to blow a stop sign safely in my car intentionally
