Yes, true. It might help assess its condition but it's unlikely the hemisphere will differ from that of the Sun in many cases as well. Like you say, it's probably not making a big practical difference to chart interpretation, but still interesting to think about

But also, i think it is affected by whether it's an evening star or morning star, ie whether it rises before or after the Sun, which determines its sect and then maybe its preferred hemisphere

Is there something about Mercury having its joy in the 1H because (at least in WSH) it's the messenger between both? Related with its role as psychopomp as well, I guess

Travelling north in Scotland over the Equinox, I'm seeing an increasingly rich tapestry of colours. And have been fortunate to have the Sun with me to bring it out! This is called a lochan (a small loch or lake) and it's located along the West Highland Way.

This is actually my current favourite too! Just got it recently as a gift from my wife. It has a lovely 'feel' to it, very intuitive, quite a warm and supportive vibe

TBH I don't quite have my head around intercepted houses and what that does to the rulerships in these extreme cases. I'd be curious to know how you approach that integratively, or do you just use it as an overlay from a perspective of placements?

I've started doing this for similar reasons, and my own chart seems to be an interesting case study because of the contrast. I've been experimenting with Campanus, a time based system that even works in the poles. It gives two of my houses as 90°+ each, which is pretty mind-boggling. Others are 8°!

Also, I've enjoyed drawing. I have no training, but when I was tiny we had a 2nd hand PC my dad used to teach himself IT. I remember spending hours in MS Paint, just playing with shapes and colours. Sketching on my phone has really brought that back to me!
