"two natsec officials" is not a source (only two guys? quotes without context; was this idependently confirmed? no info on what role they have, how connected they are; they could be mistaken, lying, incompetent) & the whole rest of the text just lists already well-trodden cases of transphobic policy

i can believe that we shouldn't live in a world where people kill other people, and also that if you live like he did, you really have nobody but yourself to blame if the wind turns the flames you're stoking back on you. not a loss, not a tragedy. just a man lying in it.

i believe in rehabilitation and i don't think there's any crime you can commit that makes you unworthy of life. but if your only legacy in this world is destruction and suffering, and you refuse to change, there's a point at which your death only prevents further harm.

if you're not part of or close to a group that he actively endangered, you might not understand that this sentiment stems from helplessness. we have no power to stop these people who are facilitating our deaths —
well, at least he's stopped now.
