Doubly important since the most effective anti-trans bigotry aims to muddy the conversation past any shared consensus.

402 signatures, over 100 a day.

My goal of 500 by Monday is within our sights.

Are you a supportive mum, dad, aunt, uncle, sibling, grandparent, extended family member, friend, neighbour, work colleague of a trans person?

Take a look at the Transparent Pledge and help Transparent Action grow.

This is important.
1) the attack on puberty blockers is anti-trans foolishness. The bans mess up other treatments too - because politicians don’t understand the complexities of medical treatments
2) perfect example of why politicians’ beaks do not belong in the minutia of medical care

β€œβ€¦ objectivity is not a precondition for constitutional protection. It’s a relatively recently developed journalistic norm β€” with its share of critics β€” that would have been seen as ridiculous when the First Amendment was written.”

"When governments override established clinical practice without evidence, and when minority groups become targets of restrictive medical policy, it sets a precedent that should concern everyone."

COP-tastrophe: How the COP of Implementation, Truth, Forests, and Indigenous Peoples Failed on All Counts COP30 began full of promise but ended as yet another reminder that the mechanism for global climate governance is broken.

To give you an idea about just how eventful the end of COP30 was, I wrote and rewrote this entire 2000 story for @drilledmedia.bsky.social three times over a period of about six hours as it was all happening.

It’s gut-wrenching watching politicians act like they know more than doctors while kids suffer. Puberty blockers have been safely used for decades; they’re only β€œcontroversial” now due to people weaponising them against trans kids. Our kids deserve healthcare, not cruelty disguised as β€œprotection.”

Oh, this wouldn't be for any sort of noble sounding ecological goal, just purely to avoid the embarrassment.

'Even treatments for precocious puberty, which use the very same puberty blockers, have limited long-term data on psychosocial outcomes. In all these cases, the safety profile is considered acceptable, and no one demands high-certainty mental health evidence for their use.'

I'm sorry, but I don't understand the "they went too far" line. At all. Who specifically went where? Why was this "too far"? It's seemingly a throw away line to try and make anything else sound "reasonable", including wholesale second class citizenship.

This got little attention at the time, but has become more relevant by the day …

Criminalising the documentation of events is a direct attack on press freedom, and it puts journalists - including nyt journalists - at grave risk

Is the @nytimes.com backing this prosecution?

Puberty blockers: why politicians overriding doctors sets a dangerous precedent The government’s ban on puberty blockers undermines clinical expertise and targets trans youth with a policy that lacks evidence, consistency and fairness.

This is very good. Clear, calm, factual, and devastating for proponents of bans on puberty blockers for trans youth.

β€œThe voices that matter most – trans young people, their families, the clinicians who work with them and trans health experts in Aotearoa – have been clear: access to puberty blockers is crucial.”

Young trans people need access to transition healthcare. We must listen to them, not to transphobes.

This is so disgusting. So the "research" to support trans kids maybe eventually getting medicine is unethical garbage that's guaranteed to traumatize them.

β€’ Trans Man class stealth effectiveness reduced by 20%. Now visible to allies when stealthed.
Dev Note: TM are not intended to be invisible to allied players, & the degree to which they couldn't be seen by enemy mobs has proved to be problematic both for them and for other classes.

Why grant anonymity to someone who is lying to you with the company line? This adds nothing but misinformation to the story and the person quoted isn't going to get in trouble for saying it.

Obviously this is much more complicated - considering something to be evidence doesn't make it the final word. If they got a null result I wouldn't instantly believe every other study had been wrong until this one, but I'd take it seriously.

For the same reason I'd believe the temperature in Houston, TX was 75F if the thermometer was read by my best friend or my worst enemy. I believe temperatures are measurable by thermometers. I might hate the person reading it but unless I have reason to believe they're lying I accept it's 75F.

When the employed are pushed into homelessness In America we are taught hard work is the key to success. But despite having full-time jobs, many families are locked out of the rental housing market, due to low wages, soaring rents and poor credit,...

ICYMI: I spoke with CBS Sunday Morning about my book, There Is No Place for Us, alongside the families whose desperate efforts to secure housing the book followsβ€”people working nonstop and still being pushed into homelessness.

This is right and the other thing here, especially because Lizza doesn’t present evidence, is that β€œcatch and kill” means something specificβ€”putting a source into a contractual obligation so that they don’t have the option of taking a story elsewhere and then not running it.

22.11.2025 18:41 β€” πŸ‘ 295    πŸ” 46    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 1

something i'll note is that if nuzzi ran catch-and-kill ops for rfk jr and lizza knew this prior to him being appointed as HHS, and instead of telling anyone, he decided to save it for his substack long after rfk jr had made communicable disease into federal policy, that's completely fucked

people are reading "catch-and-kill" in the journalistic sense but she was probably just finding raccoons for him to eat
