Will also post pictures of buildings with large numbers of rent-controlled buildings targeted for demolition like this one at 2378 Market St. For example this has 10 units and a business on the ground floor. Its owner will be getting a 95' height bump, making eviction very worthwhile

The Seattle Times
"School safety isn't a student outcome," wrote a perplexed board member in St. Paul, Minn., who attended a training given by Crabill that felt closer to indoctrination. "Culturally welcoming schools aren't a student outcome.
Small class sizes aren't a student outcome.
Healthy school lunches aren't a student outcome. So many things that our
community will ask us for are not considered student outcomes.
To create "well-resourced schools" the Seattle School Board proposed shuttering 21 buildings - just like Crabill's old board in Kansas City - then acknowledged that those remaining wouldn't necessarily see improved staffing.
Nearly everything in this op-ed about Seattle Public Schools matches SFUSD because of this cookie cutter βgovernanceβ model. Only test scores - and paying the consultant - matter www.seattletimes.com/opinion/how-...

Since then, she's worked to get SFUSD to its state-mandated $114m in cuts through early retirement, layoffs, and a long-awaited central office reorganization. But the effects don't show until the fall

How WA superintendents are stepping up with school funding rescue plan
A group of school superintendents aims to steer Washington state in a totally new direction on education. Outsiders are watching with interest.
This whole effort is flawed. Every school district in the state needs more money. They're *all* underfunded. Note also that this group hasn't met with Chris Reykdal or teachers unions. That's deliberate: it's a group of known pro-charter school, anti-union folks.

But in response to a clarifying question, Elliott confirmed that sites were not allowed to add any new employees to the Districtβs payroll even if those positions were fully funded by SSF, PEEF or any other source. As an example of a possible workaround, Elliott said that an SFUSD employee with a teaching degree currently employed by the District as a janitor could be reassigned to a teacher position.

A Chronicle review of the findings show special education enrollment has grown to 14% in recent years to about 6,800 students, up 2 percentage points despite declining enrollment across the district overall, with Black students more likely to be identified as needing the services
At the end of the day, it comes down to Jillβs well known, casual racism.

She said the Controllerβs Office would no longer be expected to perform an inquiry into what happened given that it wouldnβt likely offer any additional information than what is already known.
Supt. Su is also going to take a pass on an investigation by the City Controller, because she wouldnβt want any light shed on the grisly dysfunction in the SFUSD budget dept. Jillβs cool with that too.

It was among the biggest district blunders in recent memory, with school board members and city elected officials calling on the Controllerβs Office to investigate and ultimately leading to Superintendent Matt Wayneβs resignation.
As a treat, we get some revisionist history.
No, Jill, Matt Wayne did not resign because of this SpEd mess.
We all know he resigned because he pushed relentlessly for deeply unpopular school closures, and failed, despite your best efforts.

But amid the budget slashing at the central office, unnamed district officials cut the $30 million increase, Su said, apparently believing there were already unfilled staff vacancies in the special education department.
We are familiar with Jill serving as a mouthpiece for the Supe.
Will Maria Su hold anyone on her staff accountable for a $30 million screwup that left almost 200 kids without their legally mandated services?
Nope. Superintendent Su is really sorry and thatβs good enough for Jill.

S.F. homeless families say Mayor Lurie promised reprieve. They got eviction notices instead.
Two dozen homeless families had a meeting with Mayor Lurie in which they say he promised they could stay housed. Now, they're being evicted.
In a 1-1 meeting, Mayor Lurie promised some two dozen homeless families they wouldn't be evicted from city shelters, they said, as long as they were making "positive progress."
Now, a couple weeks later, they're being evicted anyways.
