What compelled me to make this post though was that there are people on Twit/Bsky, some with this their bio _exactly_, that are celebrating this in a hypocritic way

Yeah, it's a bit of a heart-ache to see artists being okay with another craft's output being harmed by GenAI and being okay with it, even celebrating it.
They also seem to be using the same 'placeholder art'-rhetoric to avoid proper accountability and want to put it on GitHub for others to clean up.

This is like someone that is totally against AI-Generated imagery, with models that steal from artists, suddenly being totally okay with AI-Generated music while being blind to the hypocrisy.
Someone that never cooked for themselves going "I don't care how the sausage is made, mmmm sausage".

This just isn't right man and it kinda aches to see. This has gotta just be a moment of disconnect where someone that strictly consumes another craft's output suddenly thinks the Big Unethical Thing Going Around is fine actually because it isn't hurting them this time.

Disappointing to see artists with `🚫 NO AI` in their bio, openly against Generated AI imagery, suddenly excusing AI-generated code now. Using similar rhetoric that tech-bros would use to excuse their GenAI "Art".

I'd boot into my personal or work Mac desktop machine for something and realize that Discord and Chrome and Perforce and such can actually be soo fast but.
I use hotkeys in all the software I use and try to barely touch the mouse and I could just feel a bit more latency everywhere in Windows.

Every once in a while I boot into Linux on my main personal workstation computer rather than remote into my rackmount server for dev-work and realize again that my computer is actually very very fast but Windows is just so so bloated and sluggish.

That's the one I ordered! The Outemu Silent Peach v3! Though it won't come until like mid-Feb it looks like. They might eliminate the need for the o-rings entirely if it's quiet enough!

Still kinda dumbfounded how LOUD a lot of keyboards come out of the box... This is all coming from a previous Razer Huntsman v2 which is somehow quieter than so many newer outta-the-box keyboards out there

kinda getting into Keyboard-lingo to understand exactly what I'm hearing and how to address it and all that. I was able to buy a pack of o-rings to quiet things down significantly and order some switches that will _completely_ shut this thing up once those come in a few weeks! Learning a lot.

Few months ago I tried to treat myself to a new keyboard and it was SO LOUD that I returned it since there was no way to make it quieter

Ubers will get you around pretty good too wherever the Metro doesn't immediately take you to. Santa Monica in particular also has those kinda creepy Waymo™️ cars
