I start work at 1:30pm but I set my alarm to 12:45pm however what I have been doing is pulling back the time I go to sleep so that when I get up in the morning I have more time before I start working. Before I went to sleep I went to bed at 3:00am where all my lights were turned off, laptop off etc.

If the GOP wanted to reopen govt they could do it tomorrow - get rid of the filibuster, pass the budget with a simple majority and if it is what the American people want then they should cruise towards a massive victory in the midterms. The GOP are happy with the govt being shut down and it shows.

At work today, it appears that someone has registered a domain in the same name as the organisation (minus the s on the end) - why didn't the domain name seller pick that up? why isn't there a requirement for domain name sellers ensure people aren't hijacking high profile brands?

What amazes me is how the American electorate keep voting for Republican even though they offer no actual policies - just vague promises and scapegoating is all they offer yet Americans keep voting for nonexistent policies in favour of vague promises and empty rhetoric.

The Republican Party have had over a decade to come up with a plan, they keep promising a replacement, then if you ask them what their plan is you'll find a dozen random backbenchers throw out some random ideas but no actual coherent policy that the whole party can get behind. π§΅

Once you've setup a massive infrastructure to support your influencer operation the option of shutting down and restarting as if what just happened didn't happen just isn't viable people people are unlikely to keep following once you rebrand away from Trump and MAGA to being an enlightened centrist.

But here is the problem with that 'damage control', the internet never forgets..the obnoxious behaviour by GWB supporters might have been before the rise of influencer culture which allowed people to delete their old accounts and then open up a new one then claim that the old account was 'hacked'. π§΅

Before Trump finishes his second term I think we're going to see MAGA influencers try to put distance between themselves and the former administration, trying to rebrand themselves and claim that they were never hardcore MAGA, some maybe even will try to scrub their internet history. π§΅

The first impression I get from that photo is "this reminds me of cocaine decor". It appears that a Trump and Republicans are perpetually stuck in the 1980s - just look at the evangelicals with their big hair, shoulder pads etc. it's almost as though they see the 1980s as 'peak civilisation'.

It is interesting the number of 'MAGA supporters' posting in reply to news articles about a report being 'fake news' yet when you click on their username their profile is private..anyone get the impression that maybe these 'MAGA supports' are just bots there to spread dis/misinformation?

Government shutdown reaches 5th week with important deadlines looming
With all due respects Thune, if you wanted to reopen govt you could suspend the filibuster, pass the budget with a simple majority - you won't do that because then you would have to wear the full consequences of the 'big bad bill'.

Btw, notice how the MAGA types never say anything about the rich pricks at the top end of town milking the system for all it's worth, paying lobbyists to get special tax treatment etc but apparently someone spending a few dollars on a couple of packets of chocolate biscuits is the end of the world.

On a side note, in the original shopping video the person bought fresh fruit, frozen vegetables, mince, chicken, bread, butter, potatoes, pasta, some canned goods etc. long story short, the 'junk food' that was bought pales in comparison to the bulk of the shopping which were everyday food items.

Watching a video on YouTube regarding a MAGA person on tiktok raging about someone on food stamps buying 'junk food' - the MAGA person only showed part of what occured in the video and in the original video no proof is provided that it is being bought with EBT/Snap - rage bait built off rage bait.

Dear MAGA, you were not 'deceived' by Trump, he publicly announced exactly what he would do once he got into power and you also had the benefit of knowing what he did in in the first Trump admin. You're unhappy because you thought bad things were going to happen to other people but not yourself.

Hopefully it'll mean that they will cancel their exclusive contract with TVNZ and Sky TV in New Zealand because it amazes me how executives think having a 'local partner' supplied with a limited library would be a recipe for success.

My theory is that they punch down because it makes them feel better by believing they're superior to 'those people' (aka "I'm a hard worker not exploited proletariat") where as if they punched upwards then it would be a tacit admission that they're in the same boat as those on food stamps.

It is amazing the number of MAGA people out there who happily punch down to make themselves feel better for being in their current situation rather than extending empathy to those who are struggling.
