You know it's really bad when even John Fetterman is coming out against it.

The viewpoint remains centered and level with the water, reinforcing the lake’s characteristic stillness and its tendency to act as a near-perfect mirror in the early morning hours. The lake occupies the lower half of the frame, its surface calm and only faintly textured by subtle ripples. These barely disturb the reflection, allowing the sky’s colors to stretch downward in elongated bands of blue, pale gold, and muted peach. The water appears cool and dense, holding the night’s chill, while gently receiving the first light of morning. On either side, the forested slopes that define Bowman Lake rise steeply from the shoreline. The trees—tall, closely packed conifers—are rendered as deep, shadowed masses, their details subdued by low light. At dawn, these slopes read less as individual trees and more as unified forms, framing the lake like dark curtains pulled back just enough to reveal the open corridor ahead. In the distance, the mountains recede toward the center of the image, their silhouettes layered and softened by atmospheric haze. The far peaks appear bluer and less defined, a visual cue of depth and early-morning moisture in the air. This narrowing perspective draws the eye inward, emphasizing the long, fjord-like character of Bowman Lake and its sense of seclusion. Above, the sky is textured with broken cloud cover, predominantly cool in tone. Blues and blue-grays dominate, but along the low horizon a restrained warmth emerges—soft yellows and faint pinks filtering through gaps in the clouds. The light is indirect and gentle, suggesting the sun is still hidden behind the surrounding mountains, illuminating the scene sideways rather than from above.
