Anyone know if itโ€™ll be possible to buy away tickets on the door for Villa women at Spurs tomorrow night? Canโ€™t see them on the website any more

How players are using data to show their worth in contract negotiations Kevin De Bruyne, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ben White are among the top players using a data company to give them an edge in contract negotiations. But how does it work?

A fun announcement! I've joined @espn.com!

To mark it, here's a big feature on players increasingly utilising data in their contract negotiations, with the help of consultancies like @analyticsfc.bsky.social

I spoke to a lot of people in the game in order to bring this one together ๐Ÿ™

The Europa League trophy thinking about Unai Emery coming back next seasonโ€ฆ

So many of us said a good season would be Europe again with a good UCL run. Knew balance would be tough. When you think about the injuries weโ€™ve had, the fact thatโ€™s all but locked in - with the possibility of better - with 4 games to go, weโ€™re doing grand. You can be disappointed and keep your head

Dipped into Twitter in the last 24 hours and donโ€™t miss the thirst for rage. Weโ€™re all gutted and it was rubbish but no room for context or reason with a lot of people.

27.04.2025 15:02 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Disappointing certainly. I do think the amount of games, and the intensity of them, caught up with us yesterday. Will be different by Fulham.

Yesterday was bad but weโ€™re broadly as good as it gets at home. A week off too. I expect normal service to resume.

Forest and Chelsea have fixtures you can see them slipping up in. And naturally neither can โ€˜win outโ€™. Iโ€™m ruling out Man City and Newcastle, theyโ€™ve gone. My gut tells me we do enough to get 6th and come away with 9-10 points from the remaining games.

Only thing that can really change is Conference League will go to 7th rather than 8th if Palace win the FA Cup. Stay in 7th and I think itโ€™s fairly certain. Would also be stunned if Newcastle miss out on top 5 now. Either way, weโ€™ll do enough to get something. Just depends on which one.

I think Europe is basically sewn up but youโ€™re right if we want UCL. Or even Europa League. I hate to say it but I think Palace fans outdid us yesterday too. Villa fans oddly flat even before it started going wrong. And didnโ€™t think much of our pre-match stuff.

27.04.2025 08:24 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Itโ€™s tough to take for sure. Our schedule has been insane since Preston, though. Weโ€™ve had some incredible performances against really good teams. This week has been about managing whatโ€™s left in the players and it hasnโ€™t been enough. Expect a big bounce back against Fulham with the week off.

27.04.2025 08:17 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Yesterday was Villaโ€™s 7th game in 3 weeks. Weโ€™ve got a good squad and shouldโ€™ve played better but fair to say we looked cooked. And understandably so.

Agree on the first one today. It goes down the middle.

26.04.2025 22:03 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

A lot of mitigation. Injuries meant we didnโ€™t have a settled back 4 until Feb at least. Problem is we give up big chances early in games. Chances of him saving things are low, although last couple of games heโ€™s been off. Also think he plays through the pain barrier.

26.04.2025 21:57 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Well that was rubbish. You can agree with Unai that the club is well ahead of schedule while also acknowledging that today was a disaster. Certain weโ€™ll have more occasions like today as long as heโ€™s manager. And we wonโ€™t play that badly in one again. 2 SFs in 2 seasons. Here comes the comeback.

Just went for a big run to burn off some of the energy from last night. Every time my brain goes towards disappointment, I just get this incredible physical memory of how it felt to be in the ground last night. Never felt anything quite like it. Genuinely think Iโ€™ll remember it forever. Up the Villa

John McGinn was the worldโ€™s happiest and angriest man tonight. Something to behold.

Competing against an incredible team who were allowed to build under conditions that are impossible now. Sensational stuff from Villa. A night for the soul. We are back. Up the Villa.

Inviting others to step up. Iconic stuff.

Mind games from Asensio. So clever.

So Iโ€™m an idiot. Not only had I attended an FA Cup game, Iโ€™ve spent a lot of time wearing the special shirt I bought to mark the occasion. Role on Wembley!

Last night felt like watching a football team in a tumble dryer. In that context, Villa acquitted themselves well and PSG scored from their only โ€˜chanceโ€™ in the 92nd minute. Theyโ€™re a level above and they should be with all of their advantages. Tie is still alive, next Tuesday will be unreal. UTV!

Iโ€™m not sure you know. 34k tickets. Plenty of season ticket holders skipped those cup games. Less important but wonโ€™t be able to sit next to my dad whoโ€™ll be getting his Friday morning.

07.04.2025 18:20 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Season ticket holder who has been to each Champions League game. Had a ticket to each FA Cup game but gave it to someone else. Appreciate giving people the chance to go to games but ludicrous that I might not get a Wembley ticket.

07.04.2025 17:49 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 1

A bit of a moan here. There are so many people leaving Villa games early now. I get it with night games, especially with kids and different jobs. It just seems really odd and sucks the atmosphere out of the stadium. Also distracting too. Game yesterday was so tight. Why wouldnโ€™t you stick around?

06.04.2025 08:38 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Our home form under Emery is something else. Bar a couple of small wobbles of 2-3 games, we just donโ€™t lose at Villa Park any more. Havenโ€™t seen the like in my time as a Villa fan. These are special times.

05.04.2025 19:54 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Thought McGinn was excellent when he came on. Obvious but this is why you have a squad. Our subs made us better. And we got a rest into a few. Lovely stuff.

05.04.2025 19:30 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Yeah exactly, would usually back him in that situation. Rashford coped far better, although they were getting more desperate. We were uncharacteristically loose in CM but we did the blood and thunder stuff well when needed. Emery canโ€™t be pleased with the space in CM area second half.

05.04.2025 19:12 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

I thought Asensio showed what he can bring to the starting XI in the first half, then showed why he canโ€™t start some games in the second. One of the best footballers weโ€™ve ever had at VP. Put a shift in, too.
