WIP #picotron anywhen:// listings: a single file can be viewed as a folder containing every point in time it was modified (by month/day).

The different versions are treated just like regular files and can be run straight out of the anywhen:// folder (as in the gif).

Good thing the digital trading card packs are the same price as the irl trading card packs despite not actually being tradable for anything nor with anyone and also not being a physical object you legally own

...And if I print the result of store(filename, a), I get "invalid .p64.png file: not a valid PNG" even though it's definitely not appending .png to the filename. Weird.

Did some more digging and load_020i seems to be failing specifically at the part where it saves a temporary version of the fetched file to /ram/anywhen_temp. It's as if the file never gets stored properly to /ram

Correction: I was trying to load the wrong file there, but also it still doesn't work with the correct command ._.

However, if I look in the folder for august, there's definitely information about DOOM.p64 there but load_020i still fails to locate anything related to it...

...Huh, it turns out anywhen has no data at all on any file before may, which makes sense now that I think about it because that's when I first bought picotron. However, the creation date of the cart is listed as january 17th according to about.p64, so that's what initially led me astray.

Hey @lexaloffle.bsky.social, is it possible that anywhen straight up just doesn't work right now? I can't seem to restore my current project to any point in time of its existence, and some datetime formats seem to be straight up ignored/get corrupted somehow...

I liked it, but the way the game doesn't let you figure out what to do much and even actively spoils things for you (like the cutscene toward the end that spells out the exact order of events you have to perform to finish the game) made it feel too much like an imposed formality to finish it.
