[FWIW, I've never heard of a company laying off strikers. But Canada Post's peculiar move does raise interesting legal issues for discussion!]

With Manitoba's recent introduction shift from mandatory ballots to card-check based certification, a majority of jurisdictions in Canada are again card-check.

Card-check permits unions to show majority employee support by membership cards. The vote model requires an additional vote as well.

I'll hedge that s. 107 will not be used here. Different stakes versus the port lockouts.
