I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.

This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.

It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

DISASTROUS. This means they will send people to horrific situations with no due process β€” in direct violation of promises the Solicitor General made to the Court in previous cases.

This greenlights sending people to be enslaved in Libya or tortured in any random foreign country.

People seem to think the Proud Boys are some elite fighting force. Generally speaking they're a bunch of drunk, out of shape 40 year old divorcees.

They are not a fighting force. Proud Boys are best known for singling out femmes walking alone, skater kids, etc. So that's the danger.

One attorney, Lizbeth Mateo, said ICE officials slated several of her clients for check-ins at the Edward R. Roybal Federal Building in downtown L.A. but when they showed up on Tuesday, they were detained and immediately escorted to the basement.

Mateo said a couple and their two children, one of whom is a U.S. citizen, spent the night in a room with no beds and limited access to food and water. Mateo said the father had previously been issued a stay of removal, barring him from deportation but he and his family were detained anyway. His wife was released Wednesday evening along with their children since she needed medical attention due to a high-risk pregnancy. He was still being detained early Friday, Mateo said.

🚨NEW: @cbsnews.com reports ICE is arresting people who can't even legally be deported and holding them without enough food or water in a federal building BASEMENT in Los Angeles.

Families dutifully attending check-ins with ICE are being arrested and held for days, forced to sleep on the floor.

Not excited at the third case being taken up at ALL. It comes out of a series of legal victories over the past few years which have found that private prison companies are violating trafficking laws by forcing ICE detainees to work for $1/day through threats. GEO Group wants those lawsuits stopped.

This is the reason we’ve kept different data sets separate for so long. And why, for a brief time, the Heritage Foundation sect allowed the Doge sect to run rampant. They have (most) everything they need.

Sooooo… ICE now has a bigger budget than the NIH which funds almost all of the biomedical research in America.

This is precisely where the priorities of this administration lie.

A decade-long ban on AI regulation was quietly slipped into the budget. It gives tech companies unchecked power. No rules, no oversight, no rights. Workers get fired by algorithms while CEOs cash in.

This storm is expected to produce 60+ mph winds, hail, heavy rains and tornadoes. Please be alert, have phones charged and a plan to shelter. If you rely on a weather radio, find an alternate alert system, as NOAA is doing an update and these radios will be offline through Wednesday. 2/3

For everyone saying this doesn't matter because ICE doesn't follow the law:

1. They want you to think knowing your rights makes no difference when we know for a fact it does. How do we know that? Because Homan himself said people knowing their rights cost then hundreds of arrests in Chicago.

DHS Terminating Temporary Protected Status for Afghanistan
WASHINGTON – Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem today announced the termination of Temporary Protected Status for Afghanistan. The TPS designation for the country expires on May 20, 2025, and the termination will be effective on July 12, 2025.

At least 60 days before a TPS designation expires, the Secretary, after consultation with appropriate U.S. government agencies, is required to review the conditions in a country designated for TPS to determine whether the conditions supporting the designation continue to be met, and if so, how long to extend the designation.

β€œThis administration is returning TPS to its original temporary intent,” said Secretary Kristi Noem. β€œWe’ve reviewed the conditions in Afghanistan with our interagency partners, and they do not meet the requirements for a TPS designation. Afghanistan has had an improved security situation, and its stabilizing economy no longer prevent them from returning to their home country. Additionally, the termination furthers the national interest as DHS records indicate that there are recipients who have been under investigation for fraud and threatening our public safety and national security. Reviewing TPS designations is a key part of restoring integrity in our immigration system.”

After consultation with interagency partners, Secretary Noem determined that conditions in Afghanistan no longer meet the statutory requirements. The Secretary’s decision was based on a U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services review of the country conditions and in consultation with the Department of State. The Secretary determined that, overall, there are notable improvements in the security and economic situation such that requiring the return of Afghan nationals to Afghanistan does not pose a threat to their personal safety due to ongoing-armed conflict or extraordinary and temporary conditions. A huge portion of this, from on the ground reports, is judges β€œpretermitting” asylum applications β€” denying them without allowing them the hearing they are entitled by law.

The Trump admin told judges they could do this and they’re off to the races. I’ve heard *infuriating* stories of it so far.
