I could also be wrong, but when I hear "Pokemon is just too easy," I think Pokemon games today give people a huge amount of options, even discounting add-on stuff (that would have required trades in Gamecube). On the other side, a lot of opponents in the main campaign just need varying strategies.

At least unless you were really speedrunning. Also the Save Points being handled akin to DragonQuest (where you had to go to a specific place to save). But I'd say from experience, the overall narrative would probably have felt more "defined" to someone used to the traditional Pokemon story (cont'd)

Hm...I'd like to put in my two cents.

I think the Gamecube Pokemon games (and perhaps the 3DS ones) felt closer to "traditional JRPG" to me, but I think that partly came from Colosseum especially. Yes, the the battling system and Snag mechanic, so you're not just blitzing through a game (cont'd)

Basically, when a crime drama tries an episode about stuff they really don't understand.

That said, it is a shame people like to weaponize a game's popularity so much over the other. "This game better than X game" feels super reductive if you ask me (2/2)

If there's any one thing I will say...it's that it's really good that other Kart racers got decently popular and not just Mario Kart (if how discussions online are to be believed). Makes it good for the genre, you know? Not just having one Kart Racer be king. (1/2)
