I need to point out that over 110 THOUSAND Floridians voted for Fine in 2025. He won by 15% points. We can't excuse voters from responsibility any more. Any person who votes for him again this year is an unrepentant racist piece of shit.

Have you ever once seen the New York Times quote Trump like this?

Yes because people should be content subsisting on beans and potatoes purchased monthly from the market.

Biden did NOT do that for many key things. His child tax credit cut child poverty in half but were allowed to expire. He didn’t pressure the Dem Senators from his own state to vote for $15 minimum wage. ETC. And it’s actually hard to undo highly popular policies. See: Medicare and Social Security.

Not really, I don’t have any beef with him, but I recall this kind of reasoning from him in 2024 and I’m astounded that he’s committing to the bit, which is just a rhetorical dead end.

Unless you become the guys in charge and, ya know, get bold policy passed that actually improves people’s lives in a permanent way.

Stancil is a political figure, he ran for office, and what he says is obviously intended as political discourse, not just some abstract in-the-void analysis of economic minutia. His words and tone give off β€œyou’re wrong to feel this way because *numbers and charts*” and that shit Does. Not. Work.

15.02.2026 19:05 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

That’s some pretty condescending bs to be honest with you.

Brought to you by the β€œmillennials can’t afford a home because of avocado toast” think tank.

lol ok

This may have been true, but then explain why working or middle-class people don’t feel like the economy is working for them? Is it because they’re β€œcherry-picking” costs (which like, what other metric does the average person have?) They felt squeezed then and they feel squeezed now.

15.02.2026 18:31 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

Because 1) I’m looking at this thru the lens of politics, and this stuff doesn’t convince anyone to change their mind about how they feel about the economy and 2) speaking generally and broadly, everything is more expensive and more unaffordable than it was a few years ago, period end of story.

15.02.2026 18:21 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

Are we doing the β€œthe economy isn’t as bad as you feel it is, actually” as a political strategy again? That didn’t work great for Biden/Harris.

I mean, in Maine, he is the only anti-establishment candidate and probably the only candidate who can defeat Collins, so this is kind of silly.

15.02.2026 18:04 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

Cause he’s probably gonna be the Dem candidate?

As your constituent, the position must be ABOLISH ICE. You wouldn’t advocate β€œnew guardrails” for the Gestapo, this is a lawless agency that cannot be reformed.

Do House Dems support Medicare for All?

Not worried about Ossof holding the Georgia Senate seat.

And this was a seat the GOP hoped to flip? lol

This is the kind of mindset and rhetoric the next Dem POTUS needs to have.

Eliminating ICE is the modern equivalent of opposing the Iraq War, and right now there are two types of Democrats: those who can see where the ball is moving and go to it, and those who will be swept away because they refused to do so.

What is this now, 30 Republicans retiring from Congress (because they know MAGA is a sinking ship and are cowards)?

$20/hour is $41,600 annually before taxes...that's not even close to being enough to survive comfortably outside of the cheapest/poorest areas of the country.

06.02.2026 22:10 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

$20/hour is "really high" according to HuffPost. That's an annual PRE-TAX income of $41,600 working full-time. That's barely enough to nowhere near enough to survive depending on where you live. I don't think people in the politico/media sphere have any clue how regular people live.

06.02.2026 22:08 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Wouldn’t be surprised if media downplayed it.

You know if a centrist won they’d claim an absolute mandate and declare the progressive wave dead. We should do the same here.
