The firm Stantec has been named. Put them on the shelf with Diamond Schmitt & Urban Strategies as corporate citizens who’ll take the cash to destroy part of the city (and here put lives at risk).

If you’re the kind of person who easily forgets what you’ve accomplished, you need a practice for reminding yourself. Count the years, the finished projects, the progress, the praise, count it all up and use it as evidence against the ever present criticism in your head that you’re not doing enough.

A retro-themed image featuring an "Egg Salad Machine," a quirky piece of equipment designed to churn out large quantities of egg salad. The machine has a prominent rectangular sign at the top reading "EGG SALAD MACHINE" in bold red capital letters. Below the sign is a large cylindrical transparent chamber filled with what appears to be egg salad. The mixture inside is visibly textured, indicating a creamy consistency typical of egg salad. The machine includes an array of control buttons and switches on the front panel, labeled with terms like "Egg Salad Sandwich," along with knobs and an analog gauge for adjustments, giving the machine a functional yet nostalgic appearance.

To the right of the machine sits a man with a thick mustache, wearing a light blue dress shirt paired with a dark tie featuring subtle patterns. He is dressed in light blue trousers and polished brown loafers, with white socks visible. The man is seated on a vintage-style brown sofa with a textured fabric, holding a small bowl of egg salad in one hand and a spoon in the other. He appears to be casually enjoying a serving of the freshly made egg salad, creating a humorous juxtaposition between the industrial-scale production of the machine and the personal act of eating.

The setting adds to the retro vibe, with wood-paneled walls in a warm orange-brown hue creating a cozy, mid-20th-century ambiance. The floor is carpeted in a light tan color, further enhancing the vintage aesthetic. The machine's lower compartment features two white cabinets with metallic handles, suggesting storage space. The overall composition of the image blends the absurdity of the concept—an entire machine dedicated to egg salad production—with a nostalgic and slightly humorous atmosphere, capturing a snapshot of an imagined past where such machines might have existed. This image evokes both a sense of curiosity and amusement, combining retro design, unconventional functionality, and lighthearted human interaction.

This image showcases Pantone's Color of the Year for 2025, "Mocha Mousse" (17-1230). The color is represented alongside an artistic depiction of chocolate mousse in a glass dessert dish. The backdrop features a modern, geometric design with soft, earthy tones complementing the main color.

A colorful framed artwork displayed on a wooden credenza. The design features a series of concentric arcs in shades of purple, blue, and teal, set against a red background. Two wooden decorative objects—a vase and a sphere—sit on the credenza to the right of the frame.
