Three more ex-pupils at school with Nigel Farage reject ‘banter’ claims Exclusive: Dulwich college contemporaries ‘rubbish’ Reform UK leader’s suggestion alleged racist taunts not intended to hurt * Don’t believe Nigel Farage’s denials. He targeted me for being Jewish – and it hurt | Peter Ettedgui Three more school contemporaries who claim to have witnessed Nigel Farage’s alleged teenage racism have rejected the Reform UK leader’s suggestion that it was “banter”, describing it as targeted, persistent and nasty. One former pupil, Stefan Benarroch, claimed that people emerging from a Jewish assembly at Dulwich college had been in the sights of Farage and others for taunts while a second, Cyrus Oshidar, described as “rubbish” the claim that the Reform leader did not act with intent to hurt. MoJ considering ‘extreme’ proposal to scrap jury trials for all but the most serious cases The radical plan from David Lammy has been criticised by senior lawyers, who say it could ‘destroy justice as we know it’ Jury trials for all except the most serious crimes such as rape, murder and manslaughter are set to be scrapped under radical proposals drawn up by David Lammy. In proposals that drew a swift backlash from senior lawyers, who said that they would not reduce court backlogs and could “destroy justice as we know it”, the justice secretary has proposed that juries will only pass judgment on public interest offences with possible prison sentences of more than five years. Trial by jury is a cornerstone of our democracy and an essential safeguard against authoritarianism.

It is truly frightening that such a fundamental freedom is now under attack.

Once rights are lost, they are not easy to win back. We must resist this with all we’ve got.

🚨 27,000 KILLED IN SUDAN’S DARFUR IN 3 DAYS

Darfur governor Minni Arkou Minnawi says 27,000 people were killed in just three days after the RSF captured El-Fasher late last month — a massive jump from earlier estimates of about 2,500 deaths.

In March 2025, Senator Chris Van Hollen introduced the Stand Up for Sudan Act to halt U.S. weapons transfers to the UAE “until the UAE is no longer providing materiel support to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF)” in Sudan.

On Thursday, Van Hollen tried to advance the bill on the Senate floor, but Republicans objected, blocking his effort to call it up.

We’ll take a closer look this weekend at Trump and his associates’ close ties to the UAE— which the U.S. classifies as a “Major Defense Partner” and is a buyer of high-end American weapons. Stay tuned.

@ChrisVanHollen
The U.S. has the leverage to help stop the RSF's atrocities in Sudan, RIGHT NOW. But to do that we have to use it.

Today, Republicans blocked my effort to pass legislation to suspend arms sales to the UAE until we can verify they are no longer arming the genocidal RSF. Shameful.

Caribbean slavery reparations body calls for ‘mutually beneficial’ restorative justice from UK On first official visit to UK, leaders say aim is not to ‘break the British Treasury’ but to find solution to help clean up ‘mess’ left by colonialism The Caribbean’s slavery reparations body has decried misleading press reports that suggest their aim is to “break the British Treasury” by demanding trillions of pounds, as they mutually beneficial restorative justice programme. Prof Sir Hilary Beckles, chair of the Caricom Reparations Commission (CRC), which was set up to progress the Caribbean’s pursuit of justice for centuries of enslavement and colonisation by European nations, made the comments during the body’s first official visit to the UK. 🇿🇦 South Africa’s Foreign Minister Ronald Lamola said the recent transfer of Palestinians from Gaza to his country appears to be “a clearly orchestrated operation.”

▪️ “It does look like it represents a broader agenda to remove Palestinians from Palestine into many different parts of the world,” Lamola told reporters in Johannesburg.

▪️ He warned that Pretoria “does not want any further flights to come our way, because this is a clear agenda to cleanse out the Palestinians out of Gaza and the West Bank.”

At least two planes have arrived in South Africa carrying hundreds of Palestinians in flights run by a shadowy organization alleged to be coordinating closely with Israeli authorities.
