✨#Battersea Summer Scheme’s Big Play Out is always a highlight of year.

πŸ€Έβ€β™€ This completely free multi-day event gives families a chance to take part in a range of activities during the holidays.

🐍 From holding snakes to boxing to rock-climbing, it was great to spend some time there this year.

Government confirms Dr Mary-Ann Stephenson as the next EHRC chair Minister for Women and Equalities Bridget Phillipson has confirmed that Dr Mary-Ann Stephenson will be appointed as the new Chair of the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC).

Mary-Ann Stephenson is an excellent choice by this govt to chair the EHRC. She will bring a wealth of experience to the role.

I had the pleasure of working with her and the Women’s Budget Group. She understands race, sex and disability and how they intersect.

Right now, the zoo is campaigning to raise awareness of the damaging impact social media can have on conservation efforts. Check out their #ShareSavvy campaign for more.

A great morning at St Saviours Church, sharing good conversation with the Church’s Global Women group.

🌱 πŸͺ΄ A lovely afternoon treat visiting Network Rail’s biodiversity garden at Clapham Junction.

Made from repurposed materials and housing fruit & veg from courgettes to strawberries, the garden is a shining example of how sustainable projects can transform dull & disused spaces

β€˜We faced hunger before, but never like this’: skeletal children fill hospital wards as starvation grips Gaza For months Israel kept food shipments to Gaza far below starvation rations. Now the death toll is rising rapidly

In #Gaza, there has been 43 starvation deaths in three days this week.

This horror story cannot continue.

We need a complete ban on arms sales, a complete ban of settlement goods & recognition of the state of #Palestine - & we need it now.

The Govt has said Israel must end this War but Israel is not listening.

So what should the Govt do now?

We need a complete ban on arms sales, a complete ban of settlement goods & recognition of the state of #Palestine - & we need it now.

Gaza health ministry says 33 people dead from malnutrition in last 48 hours New figures from the Hamas-run ministry include 12 children who have died, as the UN says Israel must allow aid into Gaza.

The situation is intolerable, yet we are tolerating it every day.

We need action - including an arms sales ban, a ban on goods produced in the West Bank, a suspension of trade negotiations & #Palestine recognition.

🏘 πŸ— The Govt's bold & ambitious plan for housing will ensure that more people have a safe, affordable & secure place to live.

We must, however, make sure these homes are accessible so that everyone has the chance to benefit. My question πŸ‘‡

I strongly urge the Met to reconsider the decision to close the front counter at Lavender Hill so that my constituents will safe. I will be monitoring this issue extremely closely.

While the Met will be re-focusing on video appointment provision, this cannot replace face to face interactions particularly when we still need assurances that these tools will be accessible to all members of the public.

18.07.2025 16:12 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

It is simply not right that at a time when our police need more resources to tackle serious crimes, that support is being taken away.

18.07.2025 16:12 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Without this, Battersea residents will feel less safe. Just recently, the Met Commissioner for London gave a stark warning that further cuts may mean β€˜some crimes must be ignored.’

residents will be without a single public access point for local police. This is unacceptable. Front counters provide a stable presence and allow the public to report a crime in person, giving people trust and confidence that the police will be there when they need them.

STATEMENT ALT TEXT:I am incredibly worried to hear that the Met has chosen to close the front counter at Lavender Hill. Having already faced countless closures to police services in Battersea, this will have a negative impact as it will mean

I urge the Met to rethink their decision to close the front counter at Lavender Hill.

At a time when local police need more resources to tackle crime & anti-social behaviour, this decision will only make people in #Battersea feel less safe.

Throughout my time as #Battersea’s MP, I’ve met countless young people who want to be part of our democracy.

I’m delighted that I can tell them at the next general election they will be.

πŸ‘ Great news that will give 16 and 17 year olds a proper stake in their future.
