I’m having trouble figuring out if the NYC Vista Vision screen (Regal Union Square) will be showing it that way more than one day. Right now only listed for the 24th and both screenings sold out.

Well to be honest, I haven’t watched a Hal Hartley film made in the last 20 years… despite even owning Ned Rifle on Blu-Ray. I should correct that.

Finally saw HIGH AND LOW on the big screen. Pretty much a perfect film. Was fun to watch with a sold out crowd at the New Plaza Cinema where at 49 I may have been the youngest attendee by 2 decades.

Still have CAUGHT STEALING, HIGHEST 2 LOWEST, WEAPONS, HONEY DON’T there too. Probably not all great but all worth a look. And tomorrow you could see CASINO and AFTER HOURS.

New York crime films with baseball stadium scenes for me this weekend. Shea Stadium in CAUGHT STEALING and Yankee Stadium in HIGHEST 2 LOWEST.

Good stuff.

Having never seen Jaws on a big screen, I decided to watch it on imax. Solid decision.

Just finished Colson Whitehead’s JOHN HENRY DAYS which I fittingly found in a storage garage my dad bought off the estate of the hoarding ex-doctor who delivered me. The book is not top shelf Whitehead in the writing, but some big, big themes at play about legend that are good to groove with.
