I'm glad someone finally fucking said it, because implict to this whole conversation is erasure of the fact that trans women are capable of being harmed or assaulted, and erasure of the fact that these exclusionary laws don't just make us "feel bad", but actively endanger us.

The distillation of campaigns for trans rights into "validity", "acceptance" and "inclusion" has been so virulent that cis people now seem incapable of understanding us on any other terms, even as the government denies our healthcare and encourages discrimination against us.

If I could get all cis people to understand one thing about trans people, it would be that we don't need affirmation, we need protection. Because we face real, material dangers from people seeking to do us harm, not just bad vibes and meanness.

That shoulder never got proper medical care and dislocated when I was exercising late in 2024, and in January of this year I got surgery to fix the bad tear in my shoulder labrum. This along with long neglected dental care has put me back in steep medical debt. The amount here is what I need to come up with to pay for the surgery, 6 weeks of physical therapy, and necessary dental work.
