The idea that somehow, a fundamental boundary is being violated is basically at the root of all horror, whether explicitly (such as a gateway to hell opening) or subtly (in that something not right seems to have made its way into our realm of the mundane).

don’t get me wrong i support good old fashioned rule 63 for no reason other than that you would like to see it but i do think genderbending is most fun when this would change or further some existing aspect of the character. like what would him being a woman Mean here, etc.

Got me reminded about how Applachian culture has been almost stamped out because people didn't think those traditions were worth saving (also party because it wasn't "purely white" but multi-ethnic). I am criticizing this not from a lore perspective, but from a writing one. I find it very questionable and a bad excuse for PVP. The Three Alliances don't need to be at war for PVP to have lore reasons.

Meanwhile the Empire is thematically perfectly entwined with Molag Bal and the very ideas of domination and conquest.

Which makes it bonkers how he and his varied cults have to share screentime with Three Banners nonsense instead of focusing on the Planemeld and the Soulburst.

And it's all such a shame because ESO uniquely had the perfect opportunity to slightly subvert the great-man theory-esque approach to the story of the mainline games by being an MMO. Thus even if the specific player in lore is super special, you have to acknowledge how it all wasn't done alone.

And send the supposed to be politically neutral guilds in because they won't stop fighting.

This is treated as a victory by the narrative somehow.

Notably they never fucking band together.

The entire main message of the base game Planemeld story is literally: "If we don't band together despite our differences and racial resentment, universally hated mega-Satan will pull our world into his!" And Mega-Satan himself confirms that the infighting benefits him explicitly.

Ebonheart Pact in game despite it's noble goals, will always be the same as the 1st Aldmeri Dominion and the Daggerfall Convenant in being sympathetic expansionists who want the Imperial Throne until the "real" rulers come along and everything is right again some hundred years later.

The Ebonheart Pact's goal was so awesome but can never live up to that goal, since even the arguably progressive ESO can't seem to not imagine a Tamriel with no empire not being covered in conflict between nations (even during an apocalypse). Hence Three Banners War nonsense.

Charles Booker is the most popular candidate right now, progressive that's big on solidarity and abolishing ICE. I hope if he does get the nomination, he ends up winning despite the odds and stubborn racism of Kentucky. We in Kentucky could use a win for human rights.

This is legitimately how so many people on this site think, and perhaps the worst part is that they themselves will never actually do what they scream at others to do.

Honestly, the importance placed on "pussyhat" specifically rather than just saying "stupid hat" or some other form of that is kinda the crux of the issue here. It comes across as being more concerned with appearances and not looking "cringe" in front of the normies than anything.
