22.10.2025 16:09 β π 8 π 3 π¬ 1 π 2I was a librarian too - disabled by Covid to the point I had to quit. Still canβt work nearly 2 years later now.
19.10.2025 05:46 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I have fear because the first time I tested positive I developed disabling Long Covid. So yeah Iβm afraid of becoming further disabled if I get it again which is also absolutely rational.

27.09.2025 15:38 β π 8 π 3 π¬ 0 π 0Yes, exactly this. Itβs funny how Melvilleβs descriptions of the whales make them so majestic and relatable and full of personality even as itβs a book about whaling. I ended up reading scientific books on whales as supplementary reading.
24.09.2025 23:35 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I just read Moby Dick for the first time this year so Iβm absolutely interested!
24.09.2025 20:42 β π 26 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0youtu.be/HMGD1KCYFOw?... Colbertβs response to Kimmelβs cancellation is amazing and gave me one of the only laughs Iβve had today!
19.09.2025 04:23 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0None of this should mean you shouldn't take them seriously as a threat to our existence and way of life. But they aren't the overwhelming dark empire that has a chokehold on ever aspect of life they want you to think they are. They're a bunch of power mad idiots hoping the ride never stops.
18.09.2025 04:22 β π 426 π 101 π¬ 2 π 2Their gestapo gets run out of neighborhoods by angry citizens with cameras, they lose battles in court constantly, states have already taken steps to protect their citizens' rights. And they only get less popular. with more people aware and upset at them by the day.
18.09.2025 04:21 β π 350 π 80 π¬ 1 π 0It's easy to give into panic and there IS a ton of things to be afraid of right now and in the future
But what I am holding onto is that the truth of the matter is that the current regime is incredibly unpopular and relying on projecting the image of overwhelming power because they don't have it
If people donβt give up I still have some hope. We outnumber the people who like this administration. And even those who like it, most of them arenβt willing to do the dirty in person work it would take for a full authoritarian state. Thatβs why theyβre controlling the greedy spineless execs instead
18.09.2025 05:24 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This. We canβt let this stand. If we do, it continues.
18.09.2025 00:22 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Every major talent that works for ABC and Disney should refuse to show up for work until Jimmy Kimmel is reinstated.
Marvel movies need to shutdown. Ditto the sitcoms.
Collective boycott.
Corporations love money more than anything,& this will harm them and force them to do the right thing.
if Jimmy Kimmel's political humor is too hot for you to handle, I'm not sure "snowflake" even cuts it as a term of derision for the level of fragility you've achieved

16.09.2025 14:13 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Battle doomscrolling by posting 5 small pleasures in life:
- good croissants and coffee
- the sound of waves, lake or ocean
- singing along to 80s pop songs
- headbutts from cats
- podcasting about movies!

11.09.2025 17:06 β π 5 π 3 π¬ 0 π 2I actually have seen Blood on Satanβs Claw - I liked it enough that I left it on my tubi list to rewatch! Iβll see if I can find the others! Thanks!
10.09.2025 19:41 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Any particularly good folk horror youβve seen lately? I do sort of have a list from that giant folk horror documentary that came out a few years ago but I also like personal recommendations!
10.09.2025 06:48 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Thank you @getmeanotherpod.bsky.social for making it worth my while to watch βShort Night of the Glass Dolls.β I was laughing so hard listening to your commentary. The weird tie, βnormcore gialloβ, the text vs the subtext, @weirdegg.bsky.social being driven slowly mad. Fantastic stuff.
08.09.2025 05:03 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Canβt wait to hear your selections!
05.09.2025 07:45 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Recorded TOP 5 BOOK TO FILM ADAPTATIONS tonight with @onetrackmind.bsky.social - episode coming this Monday.

The Age of Innocence, The Last of the Mohicans, A Room with a View, Fight Club, Sense and Sensibility (3/5 with Daniel Day-Lewis and every one from the 90s!) Very honorable mention to Bram Stokerβs Dracula!
05.09.2025 06:57 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0A+ on that needle drop at the end, guys. Also, am I going to have to finally watch Sharknado? π€
03.09.2025 05:31 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Extremely in-depth! This became our longest episode ever but Iβm not complaining! Always great to talk movies with Billy Ray!
02.09.2025 17:27 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It could end up in one of two series - 1. International Rom Coms 2. Fairytales and Fantasy.
