Called my congressman who voted for the SAVE act.

Me: What documents will I need to vote if this passes?
Staffer: a DL and birth certificate.
Me: The documents donโ€™t match
Staffer: Then a marriage certificate.
Me: Will my husband need the marriage certificate too?
Staffer: No
Me: See the problem?

If youโ€™re going to supplement vitamin D, donโ€™t go crazy, and if you think you might need higher amounts, ask a doctor or dietitian about getting your serum levels checked! And as always, choose a third party tested supplement ๐Ÿ™‚

Supplementing with amounts of 5000+ without documented deficiency can lead to vitamin D levels that are TOO high, which comes with its own host of issues - the most ironic being an increased risk of bone fracture ๐Ÿซค

Without testing serum levels, I generally recommend sticking with 1000-2000 IU/day supplementation. I really wouldnโ€™t advise doing higher amounts like 5000+ IU/day unless there are many extenuating circumstances (aversion to dairy, limited exposure to UV, history of stress fractures, etc.)

Friendly winter-months reminder that many people donโ€™t get enough vitamin D in their diet, and it can generally be beneficial to supplement.

Even friendlier winter-months reminder that you can absolutely overdo it with vitamin D supplementation โš ๏ธ๐Ÿงต

One thing that struck me is the similarity between food labeling and recycling labelingโ€ฆwhich boils down to a lot of it means nothing. Companies slap a โ™ป๏ธ on there/use green marketing pantones to help us sleep at night, but that shit is in an ocean or landfill with everything else ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

Buy Now on Netflix is the most disturbing, yet not surprising, thing I have ever watched. We are truly living in The Lorax. ๐Ÿ†˜

You should really not be drinking raw milk, like, everโ€ฆbut you should DEFINITELY not make your children and infants drink raw milkโ€ฆand you should SUPER-DUPER not do any of these things when there is a H1N1 problem emerging and unpasteurized dairy is a source of infection ๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ๐Ÿซ
