TLDR: Apple is forcing Patreon to remove the "per creation" model in order for their app to stay within their app store.

Don't forget! Anyone who signs up via the Apple store based app of Patreon has to pay gigantic fees anyways so I really, truly do not see the point of it. At all.

Bill Melugin • @BillMelugin_ X.com NEW: DHS confirms to @FoxNews that the Border Patrol agents involved in the deadly shooting of Alex Pretti in Minnesota have now been placed on administrative leave as part of standard protocol after a shooting.

DHS concedes to Fox it hasn’t followed standard protocol wrt this fatal shooting for the last five days, but it doesn’t explain why. It continues to hide the identities of its homicidal agents.

Very little if anything seems to have changed on the ground. ICE is still out there terrorizing neighborhoods and trying to disappear neighbors. None of us on the ground are buying this bullshit. We will keep organizing and fighting.

I cannot stress this enough: revolution doesn’t come only from fighting authoritarianism. It comes from what we build together, but we’re constantly told change should only happen once we’re uncomfortable, once our privileges given by or place within this system’s status quo are threatened. We have to show people that the revolution isn’t just catharsis. It’s joy. It’s care. It’s life made otherwise. We can do more than just accept the comfort of knowing our place in a status quo that asks us to accept that our discomfort is normal at all times, even when a fascist is not in power, and build something new that feels healthier, more joyous more healing.

You’re right here and you’re ready to fight right now, but it should not just be the moments where there’s friction in the air that it explodes, but a continual renewing - a continual reengagement with our values and our communities. We are being isolated from each other and ceding our to those in power who promise a restoration of the status quo, to put us back into our safe, yet uncomfortable places. We can dream so much bigger but it takes action, not just voting. Voting, while not immaterial, is only going to at best give people power who will only ever be reactionary to our desires. If we are to have liberal democracy, then we must fight on the ground to change it. But as an anarchist, I think we can dream even bigger than that and realize that democracy is not the end of history but one stop on our journey as humans.

I’m saying this and then I’m off social media for a while. You have my permission to yell at me if I post on Bluesky anything in the next week unless absolutely necessary.
