I didn't get a selfie with the girl with the pearl earring lovely as she is. But I did get one with Vase of flowers by Rachel Ruysch. Love her paintings, so many details in this one.

I also got to see The Goldfinch by Fabritius and the exhibition Birds that it's part of was really great. It's a little gem of a painting. There were pieces by Rembrandt, Picasso, Matisse, DaVinci, Emin and Iris Van Herpen (fashion nerds will know her).

There was another man there for ages while I was there and I think we were both having an intense experience. The light in that painting. Absolute masterpiece.

The Mauritshuis in The Hague is small but mighty. I've now seen Vermeer's View of Delft and will never recover.
