The identity of UK Ambassador to the US isn’t usually a matter of public concern beyond real politics geeks. It’s an important job but it’s not like Starmer appointed Mandelson to the Cabinet (as Brown did).

Starmer’s behaviour isn’t in question. It’s whether he made a bad choice with Mandelson (yes) and whether that should cost him his job (I don’t think it should, but it probably will.)
