Say what you will about LLMs, being able to point Claude at a PRD template and have it interview me, asking questions one at a time to gather enough information to produce a rough draft is such a sanity saver when you have limited resources (iow: no PM).

One of the benefits of WFH: I no longer have to go find a meeting room to hide in when I need to lay down flat to get my back to stop spasming. Lost count of the number of times I did that while I was at Nike. It was either that or go hide in my car with the seat back as far as it would go.

It's been a few years since I used it heavily, but I stayed familiar enough to provide oversight to my teams. Most of what appealed to me was the quality of life improvements. But having spent years in the Scala world, seeing records and pattern matching appear was a nice treat.

At least the Java of today is VERY different from the Java of a few years ago. Hopefully you're able to lean on the newer features, though I expect it can be a challenge if customers are still stuck with older versions.

I rarely saw it directly in my own feed (other than by proxy via promoted garbage), but I saw it when I'd click through to read threads from others. Especially folks who were marginalized and didn't have a cohesive base of support. I don't see it as much now because so many of them left.

Not sure if this is an outcome of this latest beta release, but this weekend I happened to open a PDF I had in Reader, select the 'View as text' option, and was quickly dumbfounded to see how well it handled the conversion. This is even better when combined with the text-to-speech feature.

Hint: almost every thing you see advertised and you go “wow, that’s so lazy” is used meaningfully in a disabled person’s life.
