Most of what appealed to me was the quality of life improvements. But having spent years in the Scala world, seeing records and pattern matching appear was a nice treat.

Not sure if this is an outcome of this latest beta release, but this weekend I happened to open a PDF I had in Reader, select the 'View as text' option, and was quickly dumbfounded to see how well it handled the conversion. This is even better when combined with the text-to-speech feature.
