D&D Show notes:

The OG 1st Edition PHB idol was the money shot of our dungeon.

It was my love letter to grognards and I even made sure of that one detail (the missing gem).

I love this one so hard. Seeing it live was a highlight of making this.

"Solving" it required giving it scritches to make it purr.

I got that from all the owl videos I watched.

It's was one of 11 interactive stations I designed for the show. :)

I really wanted an owlbear in the D&D Immersive Quest experience without having to "fight it" so I made it jumpy and grumpy about the presence of adventurers all around it.

As a Druid or a Wizard, it would speak to you. To Rogues and Fighters, it growled.

I vaguely recall someone wanting to play one, but our encounters were strictly vs Zentradi Pods and the like and we weren't mature enough back then to not turn these characters into footplate paste.

If I would distil my 950 or so Chatty DM blog posts in one sentence it would be:

I strongly believe that somewhere in the last 40 years, with the advent of "easier gaming" (Computers, golden age of board game), an awakening to "the value of players free time" has occurred.

It's one of the reason while I'm WAY more of a fan of my D&D players Antics than I was when I started out

I played it once. For a few hours (the players always brought friends over to spread over the various rooms). It was a short experience to get my D7 pulverized by a star base.
