London’s Trans Pride March Just Shattered Its Turnout Record Organizers say it was the largest transgender rights march in the world.

Reminder that 100,000 people marched for Trans Pride in London earlier this year, but because they weren't violent fascists, there was minimal press coverage, unlike the Nazis today.

Header text: "HEY YOU! YES YOU! TAKE THIS SHIT OUT OF LINKS!"

This is followed by a couple example urls, with a red square highlighting the sections with source identifiers. The rest of the text is as follows:

Source identifiers are used to track your activity on a site. Where you came from, what device you use, and even who you talk to. Whether it's written clearly in the url or tied to a random string of characters, it's assigned to your activity.

When you send a link containing a source identifier to somebody and they click it, it signals to the website that you two are connected. And that data goes right back to the website operators, and thus their advertisers.

Whenever you select "share" or "copy link" on a social app or website, it creates a link like this. If you give even the smallest shit about online privacy, it's important to remove them. Everything after the "?" symbol can be removed without issue, especially sections starting with "si=" or "utm_source="

I saw an infographic a couple years ago about how to remove source identifiers from links and why it's important, but I can't find it again and too many people I know are sending me links with them so here's an infographic straight from the oven

Steven Universe vs. Hitler. Steven appeals to Hitler "what if you could change your mind, Hitler?" Hitler stares at Steven with angry intent. Garnet puts her hand on Steven's shoulder and says "I think we're gonna have to kill this guy Steven." Steven says "Damn."

I’m 100% ok with gatekeeping incels. If you can’t handle a woman being the protagonist or a non-white person being the protagonist of a video game, I don’t think you deserve to play games.

I will tell everyone I know that @weldroid.bsky.social provides the best soundtracks for programming. Been doing it for years!
Also for playing tech-centric colonies in Rimworld.

This "banning people for merely interacting with the wrong account" thing is UNACCEPTABLE.

The radio silence is UNACCEPTABLE.

Targeting the people who made your site bearable is UNACCEPTABLE.

You have got to change how you go about this or your site is toast. I'm serious.

Another important rule:
FUCK CONTENT SCRAPERS
(don't literally fuck them though, yuck). If you hate assholes who steal art and post with no credit, make them vanish, block them forever. Use this curated block list: bsky.app/profile/did:...

-someone else's fiction cannot cause physical harm
- if someone else's fiction is causing you emotional or psychological harm, or distress, you can put it down and not read/watch it
- your empirical well-being is not the responsibility of fiction writers
- someone else's fiction is not about your personal trauma
- when reading or watching fiction, you always have The power. You can always stop. You are never reading fiction without your own consent.
- fiction writers are not responsible for other people's mental health.
- the content of a piece of fiction does not reflect on the morality of its author
- just because someone writes about bad things happening, doesn't mean they want those things to happen.
- don't like? Don't read.

This should be terms and conditions to agree every time you engage with a story.

Heilung really stand out in the modern folk scene, and for good reason! Their staunch message of unity is much needed, and much appreciated.
Great work, once again!

Well there's that bit where Dan Aykroyd's character gets it on with a ghost, so I think that's what they meant

The kobold cranes up and pans his head slowly as his irises narrow to a tight f/22. Despite the darkness, his high ISO retinas see you clearly as he crabs to the side, keeping his head steadycam-leveled. He locks his focal plane on you and strobes in an attack as if on a 90 degree shutter angle.
