Recently started watching THE STAIRCASE, the HBO drama miniseries with Toni Collette. The last one I watched depicted what the "she fell twice" theory would have looked like. If that was me, and that's what really happened, then quite frankly I think I'd rather be murdered by my spouse.

And the first three are really good, the last two are not *really* good, but both so unusual, genuinely unique within this particular crime subgenre, that you're just like "You go ahead and do whatever you want, Patricia Highsmith. I just want to watch."

such a strange series. and they were spread out over her entire career. I haven't looked into it, but I wonder if Highsmith had plans for a sixth, and what would that have been like

Not knowing which one you haven't gotten to, I will say that while it may be the worst of the five, THE BOY WHO FOLLOWED RIPLEY is maybe the most fascinating.

Have you guys read the other four books?

Haven't gotten around to him yet, plan on fixing that this year.

Watching most recent episode of 8 OUT OF 10 CATS DO COUNTDOWN. I don't know how long Frankie Monroe has been around, or how long it's been his act, but it felt to me like he was lifting his comedic persona almost wholesale from Gregg Turkington/Neil Hamburger.

maybe it sleeps in a box on other nights. anyway, nobody said the cat wasn't busy.

Of course I don't believe any of this, but even if I did, seeing a cat lay down next to someone and immediately instructing the staff to call the guy's family because he's basically dead now, strikes me as an iffy policy at best.

if I found myself sharing an opinion with Arthur Chu, I would want to downplay that fact, if anything

what a person to choose to make your point for you

as hypnotic and invigorating as "The Weight" from THE LAST WALTZ and "Psycho Killer" from STOP MAKING SENSE.

This is a great (old) episode of WOULD I LIE TO YOU, the show everyone should watch. Ray Winstone is the most charming and endearing person I would be terrified of accidentally upsetting.
