The people are lovely.
Canadians, unlike Americans, are aware of the current state of affairs. Americans, however, are oblivious due to psychological escape mechanisms like the ”I can’t look at it” mentality. I witnessed the collapse of American society and don’t want to see it happen here.

To warn that medical institutions like University of California, San Francisco, ushered Dr. Vinnay Prasad to the highest levels of government while firing those advocating for science-based medicine.
Do not support. Do not apply.
This institution is beneath you.
The other thing that's interesting here is that the AMA responds *as an institution* - choosing self-preservation over truth, and self-preservation over individual members' values.
I mention this because it's a big factor in how this kind of political manipulation gets normalized.

HHS is trying to force Seattle Children's into doing a Sophie's choice of abandoning trans youth or see kids with cancer or other serious illness have their coverage and care disrupted. That's what this is about.
Hopefully, the courts put a quick stop to this like the subpoenas.

Lying under oath McCullough and Bhattacharya have lied multiple times under oath. The 5th Circuit Court of Appeals cited his false scientific testimony in their decision to provide a preliminary injunction against the OSHA vaccine mandate. Much of the same arguments were used in the Supreme Court Case and, as you know, the Supreme Court allowed the CMS vaccine mandate to take effect but blocked the OSHA mandate. https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.lawd.185837/gov.uscourt s.lawd.185837.28.0.pdf Additionally, the Plaintiff States provided evidence in the Declaration of Dr. Peter A. McCullough that the COVID-19 vaccines do not prevent transmission of the disease among the vaccinated or mixed vaccinated/unvaccinated populations, and that mandatory COVID-19 vaccines for hospitals do not increase safety for employees or hospital patients. McCullough declared that additional treatment with other drugs and supplements has resulted in an 85% reduction in hospitalizations and death of high-risk individuals presenting with COVID-19. Of note, Dr. McCullough declared the Delta variant of SARS-Cov-2 accounts for 98.9% of the present cases in the United States, United Kingdom, and Israel. Dr. McCullough further declared that because of the progressive mutation of the spike protein, the virus has achieved an immune escape from COVID-19 vaccines. He stated the Delta variant is not adequately covered by the vaccines. In other words, even if you are fully vaccinated, you still may become infected with the COVID-19 virus

Ideology, in creating a bridge of excuses between the system and the individual, spans the abyss between the aims of the system and the aims of life. It pretends that the requirements of the system derive from the requirements of life. It is a world of appearances trying to pass for reality. The post-totalitarian system touches people at every step, but it does so with its ideological gloves on. This is why life in the system is so thoroughly permeated with hypocrisy and lies: government by bureaucracy is called popular government; the working class is enslaved in the name of the work ing class; the complete degradation of the individual is presented as his ultimate liberation; depriving people of in formation is called making it available; the use of power to manipulate is called the public control of power, and the arbitrary abuse of power is called observing the legal code; the repression of culture is called its development; the expansion of imperial influence is presented as support for the oppressed; the lack of free expression becomes the highest form of freedom; farcical elections become the highest form of democracy; banning independent thought becomes the most scientific of world views; military occupation becomes fraternal assistance. Because the regime is captive to its own lies, it must falsify everything. It falsifies the past. It falsifies the present, and it falsifies the future. It falsifies statistics. It pretends not to possess an omnipotent and unprincipled police apparatus. It pretends to respect human rights. It pretends to persecute no one. It pretends to fear nothing. It pretends to pretend nothing.
modern authoritarian systems persist because ordinary people participate in small, meaningless lies to avoid friction.
