My understanding is that canon has to be voted on by the membership and affirmed as canon, which last happened with OD 2 in 1978. But the Church has been killing common consent, and ppl ignore lots of things in canon, so practically speaking, I don't think there's much difference.

Very Christlike to use people talking about a mass shooting and murder to be like, "well, actually, the murdered people were not Christian by my definition."

There was a guy like this in a social dance class I took at BYU! He kept telling me, "you're resisting me!" And I was like, "yes, like I'm literally supposed to??" Finally I just dropped all resistance like he wanted, but w/o warning, and we both almost fell over. He improved after that.

They really did/do have a locked section?? I thought that was an anti-Mormon myth! I know the BYU library denied having a restricted section after Martha Beck's book came out, but maybe they just ended it so they could say that. Or maybe they still lock up books.

Anyone abusing their power makes threats because they lack control. If they could bring on all the hell they threaten, they would have already done it.
