Playing Legacy last night, I responded to an activation of The One Ring by Sawing my Orcish Bowmasters in half....

the thing these people have not understood is that Americans don't really ~do~ military parades. it's not in our national character. that's good, actually!

I get unreasonably stoked about Thursday night metal shows. The afterglow just steamrolls any Friday workday nonsense. It's like forcing a long weekend.

I think with just creatures you pick Flying and build Legacy Delver, so you probably want to include other spells too.

Well, the Legacy collection is pretty much finished, both the cards and the signatures, and I've been pretty consistently making it to NA EW every year, so I think making it out to APAC EW and Euro EW are up next.

I like Entomb, in a Life from the Loam sort of way, but it spent 6 years on the Legacy ban list already, we can just put it back on. Golgari Grave-Troll says its ok.

I just build it in foil at this point, if I have the cards, they're probably foil, and if I don't I just buy the foils. I don't work at it too hard, I go a lot harder on artist signatures for my Legacy decks.

It's a 1998 post-apocalyptic romp about crossing the desert with a sword and a guitar to get to Lost Vegas, where Elvis is dead and a new King must be crowned. I'm not a movie guy, so I don't know if it's a western by anyone else's standards, but it sure feels it.

I studied Illustration at RIT in the early 00s. My biggest takeaways were a better understanding of Art History and what parts of it interest and inspire me, a much more well-rounded interest in the greater art world, and a much more capable and practiced hand at my own art. It was 100% worth it.

Oh, I didn't know this. I guess my opinion still applies, but less enthusiastically and with a little bit of an eye-roll.

I don't know anything at all about FF, but I'm glad expensive staples for the most popular format are catching reprints.

I learned something! I assumed all these characters were present through the series, like Link or Mario or Jace.

After that first salvo of copycat games, all the rest have been based on cartoons I didn't watch and games I didn't play (and pro wrestling, which I don't follow) so I was never tempted again.

I played Jyhad/Vampire, Netrunner, Deadlands: Doomtown, Middle Earth: The Wizards, and a handful of impulse buys for a brief period in the 90's but the singular sticky strand of spaghetti stuck to the wall was Magic: The Gathering.

Coming into this set with no context since I've never played FF, it just feels like a new plane to explore with new legends and places and stuff. With it being Standard legal, it seems to me like it IS a main set. The only thing missing is Jace and Liliana showing up and having episodic hijinks.

I've never played any FF, I had no idea. I haven't even heard about it in years. Now my entire internet, carefully curated to only be about Magic cards is about some other game with 100 people in it that everyone knows what their deal is and why we should be excited or gutted or w/e. Its wild.
