So in his head, his big healthcare plan is to get rid of health insurance.

Can't believe that took him 2 weeks (10 years) to formulate. Check that, I can believe it took him 10 years.

Wow, still doesn't know what ACA is, or insurance really. That insurance companies don't provide healthcare.

So his plan is to withold money from insurance companies so that people can use that money to go buy insurance from those same insurance companies.
Why... it's GENIUS!!

Kind of weird to assume immigrants have the same health status as most MAGA Republicans.

Many thought so (me included), but I now figure that the PM may have a better view than us of Trump's fast dementia-ridden decline, from their conversations - and he made a choice to manage the situation short term.
The PM certainly still seems disinclined to accept bad "deals".

Don't you know the game by now? He says threatening things like this, hints at getting an equity stake, then allows them to continue as they were except he gets a piece of that fat profit.

Actually those charts are depressing, who they think is smart and who is not.

We've heard most of these people speak, it's obvious who is plain dumb and who just plays the idiot for votes, but clearly it is not obvious to many.

A plurality of Americans believe that Trump has a below average IQ. That's obvious. And that was before dementia sinilis set in.

Both professionally and in my private life, I really appreciate pragmatic fact-based writing, sometimes with a bit of humour. Glad I came across you here and on substack.

Keep the faith.

2028 Olympics opening ceremonies under MAGA will be cheap fireworks and monster trucks while drunk cabinet secretaries try to shoot puppies in a pit in front of a screaming crowd swilling beer and spewing fried chicken.
Of course there will be no foreign visitors.

When he says he's not involved in something or doesn't know somebody who loses, he totally knows them and definitely endorsed them.

Probably for some reasons less directly related, the global finance system is heavily integrated with the US deeply involved. Hesitancy from the US is the only reason the EU and Canada didn't do it two years ago.

About time. How a meat farm cull because of a communicable disease threatening a whole industry became a culture war issue shows we're in the dumbest possible timeline. No one cared before when it was chickens or swine or cattle, beyond "that's tragic".
Dumbest timeline.

Not sure how an equity stake in a single Danish corporation is involved in the US trying to convince the EU to dissolve itself. The maga-verse in the US has made it clear that it is not interested in Europe.

Remember when presidents didn't spew idiotic jibberjabber as a govt position? I miss presidents who can read or have basic middle school knowledge.

Trump can't even spell the word negotiation, let alone basic functions of it.
He calls Canada "nasty" because it won't give him anything without getting something in return.

Why on Earth would a Danish pharma corp give the US government an equity ownership stake?

"Charge us lower prices and give me a piece of the company." Definitely how business works.

Not really, they fairly quickly hired back even more people than they cut, often as not the same people.
And that success wasn't efficiency, it was downloading to provinces, who in turn downloaded as much as they could onto cities.

Cash wealth generally doesn't exist except for lottery winners.
Wealthy people always put their money to work, and if they borrow against an asset to get some liquidity, it's usually to acquire another asset.
