His show was one of the best halftime shows I’ve seen.

On February 9, 1964, I begged my father to let me watch the Ed Sullivan Show so I could see The Beatles. He promptly said no, but my mama talked him into letting me watch it. I still remember the anticipation and excitement I felt and still feel when I hear their music. Some things never change.

Ahhhhhh, the family station wagon. We had a 1973 Ford Country Squire station wagon. It was my car to drive when I got my license. I could pack that thing to the gills with friends.
