I may have misplaced my Wife somewhere...
Today there was a lady in our home who said I should put two shelves on the wall and put some nice old cameras on them. She really did not sound like my beloved wife π€£

Sky on fire!
01.01.2026 08:53 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Lens FOV is almost 90 degrees with some distortion, so satellite track does not match that well, unless it is in the center of the image.
Science value is close to zero, but nice test anyway!
BUT...there is always butts! π
I managed to feed the video stream from my meteor camera to a virtual machine running Cees Bassa's STVID, with success!
After several cloudy weeks I set up my SatCam for observarions. There are some serious pixelation in the image stream, so for now this is on hold...
The Watec camera is analog, the coax line is 10m long and the USB TV-stick is cheap, so any of those might be a problem.
Air travel with 35mm film in 2025. This note and politeness went far! Obrigado!
15.12.2025 12:25 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Today's patient is Yashica Minister D from 1964 with non-working light meter. Mechanically this works well!
Oh, easy! A wire was loose from the metering button and button contacts needed contact cleaner.
Light meter now works and numbers are reasonable compared to light meter app on my phone.
I may have found something cool!π

04.08.2025 11:41 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Testing ATU-100 with FT-450 and vertical EFHW. Auto tune seems to work well. It has no memory, so it's tuning on every band change.
It tunes down to 80m band, but 160m it a bit too much! I have no 40m/80m "extras" on my vertical.
But, again, build quality, fugly as fuck! It needs some rework!
Finally the first QSO with my "RF-Pilkki" (RF ice fishing rod)!
Very easy to reel wire out for proper length for EFHW.
Also testing a very, very cheap ATU-100. Build quality is awful, but seems to work. G90 does not need it, but maybe it helps FT-450 in some cases?
Sooo, it seems X-37B OTV-8 is coming up August 21st, on a Falcon 9 from KSC designated USSF-36, analysis on which vehicle will fly on-going as they are playing games with the published image resolution ;-)

Something special: 1982 Minox 35 PL with an optional flash unit! Very tiny full frame camera. Film canister for scale.
Looks like it works fine, too!
This was a bit more: 50 euros after "twisting my old hand and putting my family to the streets..." -kind of haggle π
Today's outdoor flea market finds:
Pristine condition Olympus OM10 with 75-150mm/f4 lens. Sold as non-working condition. 25 euros after a haggle. New batteries in and works just fine!
Moon rising behind the OH2VHH 2m beacon antenna.
A crop from my allsky camera.
Nice day for some backyard QSO's βοΈπ

12.07.2025 20:28 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I found a perfect match for my "America's Man in Space" View-Master reel set!
I've never seen a View-Master like this!
I am very happy with this setup! With the HF vertical I have had FT8 contacts to Japan, Brazil and Australia and SSB QSO to France!
Diamond X30 helps my now reach new repeaters. I have Anytone AT-D878UV Plus II (mouthfull!) connected to it, some times Icom IC-R30 or Airspy for RX only.

Xiegu G90 tunes all bands and Yaesu FT-450 almost all.
New Diamond X30 is for 2m/70cm bands and an old ADSB antenna feeds Rasperry Pi and Flightaware stick just five meters away (PoE powered) instead of 15 meters of cable it used to be!
Spare LAN cable is for future use (a meteor camera, perhaps?)
#3 Antenna upgrades!
I finally have something permanent for HF bands!
I acquired a permit from my lovely neighbours to install an additional vertical antenna. It is Sigma Eurocomm SE HF-360 for 6 to 80 meters. Being only 5.5m tall, it is not an eyesore.
DIY "hat" connects relays and sensors. The box sits on "legs" which has strong magnets to "clamp" on a metal surface on the roof.
The view is superb! 42m above ground, 83m above sea level! 360 degree clear view!
The camera sits in an enclosure and has a heated dome. Three temperature sensors (dome, enclosure, outside), humidity sensor, two relays for controlling the heaters ( 1/2 and full power).
The RasPi boots from a SSD drive. Software is from github.com/AllskyTeam/a...
#2 Allsky Camera!
Our radio club has a repeater site at the top of a tall apartment building and my suggestion about a allsky camera was greeted with positive feedback! I bought a Raspberry Pi 4 and a fisheye lens, but rest was "bonk" and donations.
