Good coverage of what we all know needs to be done to start chipping away at the housing crisis. But to be clear the £11.5bn for 90,000 homes is the public subsidy. Housing Associations will invest at least as much as that on top to deliver all those new homes.

There are likely to be 140 families locally that want them and can afford them. The real question is what are we (society) doing for the 14000* who are in need of better housing in that locality that probably can't afford them.
* 14000 is a total guess for effect, but I bet I'm not far wrong!

Improving the energy efficiency of our homes and switching to low carbon heating is a positive e thing. We need to talk more about the benefits - health being top of the list.

Enjoyed being Lisa's +1 this evening visiting the Preview of Christmas at #Harewood, here in Leeds. Surprisingly delightful and magical festive display created by Davy and Kristin McGuire. Do go and visit - you won't be disappointed.

Not just in rural areas. What future for buses beyond mass transit routes? When a new electric double decker costs £1/2m plus a driver / ticket seller and in 20 years we'll probably have cheap rides in robotaxis with ride sharing functionality, I can't see a viable role for buses in the suburbs.

Report this week indicated that clean air zone charging in Bradford was already having positive health effects saving the NHS £thousands each month. Variable road pricing according to congestion peak times could really incentivise more thoughtful travel and help to tackle our appalling air quality

Surely some sort of levy per mile travelled is the progressive way forward that will also incentivise alternative modes of travel? We have the tech to do it now. And don't give me any privacy nonsense - most of us already give that freely to use map apps on our phones!
