This rings true. When I came across a realistic AI video of WangXian making out (one possibly forgivable use of AI) and showed it to husband, who's watched the show with me, he said, mystified, "Thing is, I feel like I DID see that."

Was listening to a Be the Serpent podcast episode from a few years ago, and hosts @alexandrarowland.bsky.social, @freyamarske.bsky.social, and Jennifer Mace were saying that in #TheUntamed, the cinematography tricks make you kind of hallucinate the WangXian kisses, despite the censorship.

Because English is not a Celtic language, while the Gaelic languages are!

Nor is English a Romance language, as I've also seen people say. It's a Germanic language (thanks to the Anglo-Saxon conquest) with lots of Romance-language vocab, thanks mainly to Norman Conquest (i.e., Old French speakers).

This all of course is only for England (and its colonies, though then you get into dialects, pidgins, and creoles...). In Scotland, e.g., you had the Scots language, related to English (see Robert Burns), but also Scottish Gaelic, which is almost totally unrelated to English (but related to Irish).
