Not all Republicans are unkind, uncaring or callous. We're beginning to see that. It's just sad that it takes something happening to us personally to show us how badly we treat those less fortunate.

The "othering" of our fellow humans, the arrogance of feeling superior, THAT is the scam. We all need each other. We need to take care of each other.

So, I filed for disability. It was a months long process just to get to an evaluation. More months to get to my first denial. Two years total to a final decision after appeal. It became clear that the conservative attitude I was raised with - that people on disability or food stamps were just gaming

Vertigo, discomfort, etc... I had developed Menier's disease. But that's not really important. It became (even more) difficult to drive and focus... And walk in a straight line. I ended up dropping the ball at my office job and was asked to resign. It was clear a normal office job wasn't working.
