The sight that makes a farmer smile, first suckle of a new kid on a first time mother. That's when you know it's going to be just fine. (Not that I had doubts, this doe line has powerful maternal instinct.)

CWF Lucy had twin bucklings this evening, one blue and one white. Sire is HGF Ishmael. Just like her mother, LuHoo, Lucy is doing an amazing job with her first kids. I love this doe. ❤️

PEEPERS!!!!

0300 barn check, under a moon so bright I didn't need my headlamp, found twins for CWF Isla. I got them tucked into a mama motel, and all are doing well. It's always nice to find clean, dry, healthy kids with a doting mother!

For perhaps the first time in my adult life, I have 4 weeks at home while I transition from one job to another. Happily, it coincides with baby season on the farm! I had high hopes that it would also coincide with Spring. Mother Nature said, "No." 🙁 We still are cold and wet in Maine. Sigh.

Twin boys last night for CWF Gina and HGF Ishmael! Pretty flashy leg markings on the one buckling! Gina is an excellent mother, just like her own dam. I love this doe line.
