Well, the hammer inventor didn't sell all rights to the hammer until it reaches AGI to Microsoft. And we did not subsequently bet the economy on that happening. Otherwise this would make perfect sense!

At this point the only feasible way towards AGI is to lower the bar on what general intelligence means by systematically suppressing education and creativity... oh.

One thing that the current exorbitant investments in "AI" show is that the investor class and big tech corporations do not pay enough taxes: If you have billions to set on fire for spicy autocomplete we should take some or all of those to do something useful with.
