Dr. Ravipati gave a great talk on the "Intersection of Rheumatology and Nephrology" at the Nebraska Rheumatology Society 2025 Fall Meeting last week!!!

Our team crashed the event to learn and enjoy some time with our amazing UNMC Rheumatology colleagues (+ some former neph fellows showed up)!

We had a great Renal Potpourri conference to end September with Dr. Hoenemeyer reviewing ANCA-associated vasculitis, Dr. Wekesa discussing hypokalemia-associated nephropathy, and Dr. Langewisch bringing the team through how to approach the common question of "can I stop pred?"

She covered everything from "what to do if someone comes to you wanting to donate a kidney" to the details of post-transplant care!

People living under fascism didn’t survive by giving up joy—they protected it.

They held onto the things fascism tried to erase: art, friendship, jokes, rituals, language, memory.

Not as escapism but as resistance. As proof they were still human.

Joy isn’t frivolous under fascism. It’s strategic.

Such a shame to see him go, a real talent and such a brilliantly versatile defender.

It's clear the seriousness of these knee injuries has played a part, but there should be no recrimination for the player. He's been a model pro, just hugely unfortunate.

Wishing him luck for whatever is next 🙏

Absolutely shameful that he stayed at the club as long as he did

It's shameful that we were even considering renewing him.

The people at the top of the club were not blind to this situation, and still considered it in the interests of sporting expedience.

Lessons should be learned.

While Republicans celebrate the passage of the largest Medicaid cut in history, the Curtis Medical Center in Nebraska announced it will shut down as a result of these horrific cuts — the first of many hospitals to close.

This is a dark day for rural America and for our country.
